Happy Chinese New Year!

It’s the year of the Yang Red Fire Monkey.

Do you want to know what that means for you?

This is the year to let go of what’s no longer serving you. That means people who drain your life force, unhealthy eating, and other habits that are keeping you stuck.

The year of the Monkey will help you find the courage, will and focus to move forward in your life. Trust your intuition and let the Money’s high energy swing you forward with passion and purpose!

Cindy Prosor and her sweetheartSpeaking of passion, it’s Valentines Day this weekend. One of my favorite holidays!

You probably didn’t know, “The Heart Mentor”, “Cindy Love” and “The Love Goddess” are just three of my many nick-names.

Since I was a little girl, creating a love-filled life is what I’ve done naturally. Many say it’s my gift.

I’ve been married to my sweet heart for over 35 years and because of the work we do on our relationship and ourselves, our love is going strong.

Romance, deep connections and love are all important to me and Valentine’s Day is just another excuse for dipping into all three.

So let’s talk about love.

I know many of you believe, once you find someone to love you, you’ll feel complete, secure and happy.  But that’s like going for the pot-of-gold at the end of the rainbow…it’s just an illusion.

If you think love is what you want, you’re going to spend your whole life searching for it.

That’s because love has nothing to do with anybody else. Love is not out “there”.

As long as you’re searching for love outside of yourself, you are never going to find it.

Oh, you might find someone who loves you, and yes, that feels good, even great for a while. Yet if you continue to depend on outside love to feed your heart and soul, you’re going to be disappointed before too long.

Many of us (often subconsciously) take care of another so the other person will take care of us. Performing for love can be frustrating and exhausting.  You can’t control anyone or anything outside of yourself to feel loved for long…it just doesn’t work that way.

To have a lasting love-filled life, you MUST find that love within yourself.

beautiful heartYou see, you ARE love. Love is who you are. You don’t need to search for it. You just need to tap into it and nurture it.

When you find the love within yourself, you have that love to share with others. By sharing that love with others, you will find what the searching will never give you.

My recommendation this Valentine’s weekend is spend time romancing yourself first.

What would you like someone else to do for you? Buy you flowers, take you out to dinner or give you a massage? What ever it is, this weekend do that for yourself.

If you’re single, buy yourself some flowers, make yourself a nice dinner, light some candles, put on soft music. Treat yourself like you’d like to be treated and soak all that love into your heart.

If you have a partner, make sure you take care of yourself before taking care of your partner. You’ll have so much more to give others from a loving and healthy place.

Regularly spend quiet time connecting to the love within yourself. If you need a little help getting started, think of a child, a pet or another loved one and feel the love they trigger inside you. Then, let go of the memory and just hold onto that feeling of love. Feel the love in your heart and let it grow. You’re building your “love-muscle”!

Feel and nurture the love within you. Then share that love with others. That’s the secret to a lasting, love-filled life.

I’d love to hear from you. What are your thoughts on love? Please join the conversation in the comments.
